Why "green jobs" may not save the economy or the environment.
“Every unit of energy generated from alternative sources displaces a similar amount generated by traditional means”, meaning that as green jobs rise, regular energy jobs will fall. Green energy is also more expensive, which will have a negative effect on the economy.
The biggest investment in green energy has gone towards corn-based ethanol, which is bad for the environment(because cutting all that corn decimates habitats, and the burning of the resultant ethanol will increase smog).
Is Michael Levi suggesting that people should continue to dig coal out of the earth in 2009 rather than build greener energy solutions like windmills and solar panels?
